Day Eight :: Sidmouth

Back to Sidmouth for out last day here. Lovely sunny day meant that Charlotte and Liberty couldn't wait to get into the sea.

This was followed by the legendary "Taste of Sidmouth" ice creams. Believe it or not, the ice creams below are "small"!

After a swim (in the pool) for Geoff and Lindsey we headed back to the caravan where the girls stayed to watch TV while we nipped for a last visit to Beer.

Finally back to the caravan for the traditional plasticine model making. You can be the judge of the best ....

Early start tomorrow for the journey north. Back early evening, traffic permitting :)

Day Seven :: Sidmouth, Sun and Swimming

A sunny day today, so we headed to Sidmouth.

Lots of wandering around the craft tents, listening to the music, watching the dancing and generally walking too much :)

Girls ended up paddling I the sea which inspired them to go swimming later, albeit in the comfort of the indoor pool rather than the sea.

Day Six :: Exeter

Decision made this morning given the cooler weather to head to Exeter for some retail therapy. A drive to the outskirts then onto the park and ride.

We separated in Exeter to allow the girls to visit the usual Lush, Cath Kidston, Thornton's, etc.

Saw this shop we thought the girls should visit. They loved it but was a bit too pricey to part them with their money.

Called at Budleigh Salterton on the way home but rain had started by then so just a quick beach visit to see the "unique pebbles" washed up from Brittany some 350 million years ago and, of course, take some photos.

An early night back at the caravan as Lindsey and Geoff are having their meal prepared for them by Charlotte and Liberty.

Oh, yes, and then there's some TV programme that's a must tonight! Bake Off :)

Day Five :: Sidmouth

A relaxed start to the day arriving at Sidmouth around 11:30, lucky to get parked!!

Walk along the sea front looking at the views and the craft stalls.

Lunch in the park was fun. Very busy and music playing away in the background.

Charlotte and Liberty are particularly fond of the ice creams from the town :)

Day Four :: Big animals, small animals and small houses

A bright and early start to leave the caravan by 8:45am heading to the zoo. A trouble free journey meant we were there by 10:15am. Pre-booked tickets speeded us past the queues waiting to pay, so organised :). Fortunately the zoo, after much negotiation, allowed Geoff to leave (Geoff was glad that Lindsey's negotiation had failed!)

After the zoo we headed to Torquay for a walk around the harbour and our tea in Prezzo. A ride on the big wheel. Lindsey stayed with her feet on the ground taking pictures of us taking pictures of her.

Torquay was followed by a trip to Babbacombe Model Village

Day Three :: Fossils, Donkeys and Beer

A relaxing no-rush morning, breakfast followed by packed lunch preparation then into the car to Charmouth to look for fossils on the beach. A quick visit to the fossil shop to get the hammers then west-bound along the beach.

We found a couple of small fossils.

Next stop was the Donkey Sanctuary.

Back to the caravan for tea and the onto the wonderfully named Beer for the evening. A walk along the beach, a go on the swings and, of course, a beer (or coke/appletise for the younger ones). The girls were so excited at the thought!

A swing with a view!

Early start tomorrow - all being well, we're off to the zoo :)

Day Two :: Arrival at Seaton (via Stonehenge)

Departed following breakfast and headed for a surprise visit (for Liberty) to Stonehenge,

After arriving at the caravan (and now thinking we should have taken a photo to put on here!) we headed to Sidmouth for the evening.

Fun in the play area for Charlotte and Liberty although Liberty a touch uncertain about the height the swing was reaching :)

Quite an amazing moon on the way home (photo doesn't do it justice)
